TEACHING ASSISTANT 2 Upper Juniors
Required from Monday 10 September 2018 (or as soon as possible after that)
Band 3 Points 17-21
£18,672- £20,541 (pro rata to hours worked)
Actual Salary - £8,821 - £9,704
20 hours per week
9:10am to 1:10pm, Monday to Friday
Permanent, Term time only

The Governors of this popular and successful school are looking to appoint an outstanding and committed Teaching Assistant 2 to work alongside our highly experienced and friendly team. The desired candidate will be keen to uphold the church ethos and Christian values of the school and to support all aspects of school life.

We are looking for a committed person to support individuals and groups of children in our Key Stage 2 department and to stay on to help with lunch time supervision. The person appointed will need to be dynamic, patient, friendly and caring; willing to be flexible when required. You will be joining a very friendly and supportive staff team, wherein Teaching Assistants play a vital role in raising standards and providing pastoral care for the children.

The successful applicant will:

• have the academic ability and skills to support high achieving children (at least a C in GCSE Maths and English is essential)
• have appropriate qualifications for the post
• have some experience of working with children – desirable to have TA experience
• have some knowledge of special educational needs
• have the ability to work constructively as part of a team
• have initiative
• have the ability to communicate effectively with all members of staff, parents, pupils and other agencies, both orally and written
• have awareness of confidentiality and child protection/safeguarding and be prepared to undertake appropriate training for this
