Child Protection and Children in Need

SERVICE UNIT MANAGER
Permanent, 36 hours per week

Grade K – SCP 44 £46,634 – SCP 47 £50,417

Located at: Denton Centre, Acre Street, Denton, Tameside, M34 2BW

At Tameside we are committed to achieving the best outcomes for our children and young people within the borough. We are seeking an experience and dynamic Service Unit Manager to help us on our journey to achieve this.

As the Service Unit Manager you will be responsible for two neighbourhoods Social Work Teams (4 Team Managers), the ISCAN service (1 Team Manager) and the PLO manager.

A number of exciting changes and developments are taking place within our Child Protection and Children in Need service as we are embedding our practice model, Signs of Safety, and driving quality care planning to achieve permanence for children. The investment we have had as a service will enable us to offer manageable caseloads so we can deliver on our statutory and corporate parenting responsibilities/priorities but most importantly allows social workers to build relationships with children, young people and families.

Our commitment to you is that you will receive regular supervision from your line manager and a good offer of training from our work force development. We are a supportive management team and we practice in a supportive way to encourage learning and development and we will work flexibly and creatively with you.

For an informal discussion please contact David Goldsworthy on 0161 342 4475 or e-mail david.goldsworthy@tameside.gov.uk.
