We are looking for someone with great IT skills to join our team.

GMPF will soon be moving to Microsoft365 as well as migrating from Window 7 to Windows 10 on all laptops. As part of this project we plan to upgrade some of the windows servers to Windows Server 2019. Our website is also under redevelopment and will be relaunched early next year.

We are looking for people who have skills and knowledge in some or all of these areas to join us working on these exciting projects.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys providing 1st and 2nd level IT support. You will join a team that is passionate about providing excellent service to pension fund members and internal users.

You will provide support for IT projects, as well as performing system housekeeping routines, assisting with the implementation of new software and supporting the website.

Along with having the right IT skills, you will need to be able to support others with technical or complex areas of work. You will need to be a good problem solver, thorough and accurate in your work, and understand the importance that IT infrastructure has on our ability to deliver high standards of service.

The Greater Manchester Pension Fund (GMPF) is a regional pension fund administering the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). It is run by Tameside MBC and is based in Droylsden.

GMPF is one of the largest pension funds in the country and is the largest LGPS fund in the UK. We have over 355,000 members, over 600 employers and last year paid out over £748 million in benefits. The Systems Maintenance & IT team is part of the Administration section. 127 employees currently work within the Administration section of the Fund.
