We currently have an exciting vacancy for a Strategic Growth on a fixed term contract for up to 2 years in the Strategic Growth Team. This is an exciting time to join us and play a key role in helping to support existing businesses and deliver Trafford’s priorities for growth and investment.

About the Role
As a Strategic Growth Officer you will play an important role in providing effective support to businesses whilst managing projects and programmes relating to the Council’s response to the UK’s withdrawal from the EU. You will help lead on the development and implementation of a range of projects, action plans and initiatives designed to support existing businesses in dealing with the implications of the withdrawal and secure investment/growth in Trafford.

Applicants must have a degree or equivalent qualification and at least 3 years’ experience of working in economic development, business support or a related field. You will have the project management skills and flexibility to deal with multiple work areas alongside the ability to work closely with the private sector and other partners.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic individual who wants to make a real difference on the ground. Excellent written and communication skills are essential as you will be interacting with businesses, partner agencies, other Council officers and elected members.

Trafford’s Strategic Growth team is part of the wider Strategic Growth Service which is based at the recently rebuilt Town Hall in Stretford, and you will report to the Strategic Growth Manager. A flexible hours and working policy is in place and some unsocial hours working is required on occasions.
