The position is NJC grade 4, points 6-7
£19,171- £19,554 pro-rata
Actual starting salary £15,996, for a 38 week working year

From September 2019 (or sooner dependent upon the needs of the individual), we wish to appoint a Science Technician to provide technical support and assistance to our busy Science Faculty. The post holder will be responsible for providing quality support to both teachers and students. Responsibilities include: preparing equipment and chemicals for lessons, including in class demonstrations; ensuring apparatus and chemicals are maintained, stored and disposed of appropriately; adhering to rigorous health and safety standards; stock taking; retrieving and putting away equipment.

Experience of working in a school or industry laboratory environment is essential.

Our Technicians play a key role in the day to day running of our Faculties and it is essential that the successful candidate is confident in providing technical assistance and student support in a busy classroom/laboratory environment.
