36 Hours per week Hours to be worked Monday to Friday between 8.30am - 5pm as required

We are looking for a driver/library assistant to operate a delivery service to library service points, and other partner sites, to be a keyholder for library premises and available for emergency call-out during working hours, and to occasionally undertake library assistant duties as required.

You will have a current valid UK driving licence, and be fully competent or willing to be trained in the application of safe manual handling and lifting techniques appropriate to the nature of the work. You must be physically able to handle some heavy lifting and to work well alone and as part of a team.

You must have good awareness of personal safety and security issues related to emergency call-out duties, including effective liaison with police, council control staff and alarm system contractors. You must be able to deal with customer needs in a positive and flexible manner. You must be honest and trustworthy in the use of keys and alarm codes to premises for unsupervised delivery and emergency access to service points when closed.

This post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken

You must be able to deal effectively with written instructions and service requests, and have a flexible approach to customer needs .You should be able to maintain written records, and to be competent in ICT skills and clerical procedures appropriate to the library assistant role in Bibliographical Services team.

You must be able to plan your own time within an overall schedule, and operate effectively as a member of the Libraries team.
