No Wrong Door is a new way of providing support to young people who are within or on the edge of the care system.

We are transforming our families and children’s services through a programme of innovation, developing new ways of working to provide support at the earliest opportunity by working together with our partners in social care, police and health.

Our new No Wrong Door integrated, multi-agency service, will support adolescents who are either in care, edging to or on the edge of care. Throughout their journey they will be supported by a dedicated team working from a co-located ‘Hub’ which has the facility to offer community based support and residential beds.

We are excited to be recruiting these new Edge of Care Residential Hub Worker posts which will support young people through the hub’s ‘Core Offer.’ The post holder will provide all aspects of care needs and interventions, in line with the young people’s Core Assessments and Care Plans, and develop effective action plans with a focus on reducing risks and building on strengths. Key working is integral to the post; working ‘with’ young people to develop their resilience and life skills to enable them to successfully manage the transition to independence.

The role requires you to work with young people and families when they most need it which will often be outside of normal working hours, including weekends. This role will require you to establish strong relationships with children and their families/carers to understand any barriers preventing them staying within the care of their family and community. The post holder will work with families supporting children within their home and providing residential care for children and young people who live/stay overnight at the ‘Hub’.

Key characteristic requirements of this post are: flexibility, commitment, building effective relationships, resilience, persistence and the ability to progress plans. The post requires an enhanced DBS, working a rota and undertaking sleeping in duties.

As a member of our No Wrong Door team we will offer you a truly supportive environment, where you’ll be able to work with autonomy whilst knowing that you are a member of an experienced and skilled team. Alongside your experience, you’ll need to share our commitment to teamwork and our dedication to young people and their families. In addition to this support we aim to provide a wide range of learning and development opportunities.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, as an employee you will be expected to share this commitment.
