Leaving Care Personal Advisor

Working Hours: 18.5 per week

The post of Personal Advisor with the Trafford’s Care Leavers’ Service can be both challenging and rewarding. You will be working with young people aged between 16 and 25 who fall under the criteria of the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000. You will have a minimum qualification of an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.

Many of the young people we work with have very complex needs, and some of the skills you will be required to undertake in the role are patience, tenacity and flexibility. The Successful candidate will have a detailed understanding of housing, benefits, mental health and education and training issues so you can work towards measurable outcomes. Trafford’s Leaving Care Service was assessed by being outstanding by OFSTED in April 2015 and the successful applicant will be joining a committed and dedicated team.

You will work across the Trafford Borough and be required to manage a case load of approximately 25 young people. You will receive regular supervision and relevant training opportunities.
