FINANCE AND HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER - Start date - Monday 15 July 2019 to familiarise with office routines before the academic year begins September 2019
NJC Band 5, commencing from SCP 18-22
(£24,313– £26,317 pro rata)
29 hours per week over 4 days (7.25hrs per day)
Term Time Only (39 weeks)
We are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Finance and Human Resources Officer to join our dedicated school team.
St Michael’s is a happy caring Christian school with links to the local church, and also as a family based school, it is held in high regard by the local community.
St Michael’s ethos is defined by values of Excellence, Caring, Collaboration and Perseverance.
The role of the Finance and Human Resources Officer is to provide a comprehensive financial, administrative HR and Payroll support service to the school.

Providing a first class service to teaching and support staff across the school and dealing directly with pupils, you will be a confident team player, with excellent communication skills, always prepared to “go the extra mile” to ensure the smooth running of the school and an efficient and effective finance and HR function.

What are we looking for?
· A “hands on” team player with significant experience of working in accounting and finance in a busy setting, ideally, but not necessarily, in a school or other educational setting.
· Knowledge and understanding of HR, recruitment and payroll processes
· Excellent IT skills
· Good organisational skills with ability to manage own workload and support others whilst operating to tight reporting deadlines
· Willingness to be flexible and to ‘get involved’ and the ability to adapt to changing workload demands and new school challenges.
· Empathy with the happy, caring, Christian culture and ethos of our school.

We are highly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils and we expect all our staff to share this commitment. Enhanced DBS vetting procedures are required for all posts.
