Following a recent restructure of the Team the following new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Officer who will support the Tax and Systems area of the Financial Accounting Team. The role will be responsible for the following duties:

• Inputting/uploading transactional data into the financial ledger.
• Assisting in discharging the Council’s VAT responsibilities effectively by ensuring school’s VAT claims are made accurately and on time.
• Assisting in maintaining the integrity of financial data by processing authorised transactions quickly and accurately.
• Reconciling, clearing down and reporting on control accounts producing month end reports detailing performance against targets.
• Investigating system failures and identifying appropriate solutions with the support of more senior staff as necessary.
• Assisting internal and external customers by dealing with queries and providing advice on systems and/or procedures.

Experience in banking systems and processes are desirable but not essential.

The role is ideal for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with service managers and external customers.
