Tameside Council is seeking to recruit a dynamic inspirational leader to its Pupil Referral Service who can bring their own vision, creativity and expertise to the service.

The successful candidate will be joining a diverse and vibrant local authority committed to excellence and where support for our most vulnerable young people features prominently in our priorities. The successful candidate will have a key role to play in further developing the service in close collaboration with local headteachers and key partner agencies to improve the life chances of children and young people most at risk of poor outcomes.

The KS3 and KS4 facilities were purpose built in 2012 under the Building Schools for the Future programme and offer outstanding opportunities for further development.

This is a challenging but hugely rewarding post, leading on engagement with our most vulnerable young people, their families and other agencies to help them develop and achieve. We are looking for a leader who is an excellent communicator, with a strong tem ethos and a proven track record in shaping a positive learning culture that promotes success and personal wellbeing. We are committed to providing a supportive, forward thinking vocational and academic curriculum and learning environment in which our pupils can thrive.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Head of Centre to join our Senior Leadership team from September 2020 (if at all possible) or January 2021. Based at our KS4 Site you will be required by the service to lead and manage the centre on a day to day basis, as well as contributing to the strategic leadership of the whole service.
