Salary: SO1 (£23,512 actual)

North Cestrian School have since September 2016 operated as part of the Hamblin Education Trust in Cheshire, and we are currently looking to enhance the Examinations & Data team within the school. We are looking to recruit a dedicated, organised individual who will look to support the Head Teacher in delivering Data & Examinations support throughout the school year.

The post holder will be responsible for:

• Manage and execute the annual Examinations & Data timetable liaising with teaching staff, invigilators and external regulators
• Team lead the Data Assistant
• Work as part of a wider team within the school
• Have an attention to detail
• Produce and organise data for others to use
• Follow instructions, be able to prioritise and work independently when required
• Contribute to the positive school ethos ‘where individuals thrive’, in which every individual is treated with dignity and respect and where the safety and welfare of our young people is paramount.
• In accordance with the Exams Policy and the Joint Council requirements, manage the sound administration of all internal and external examinations
• Manage the administration of all Assessment, Reporting and Recording process.
• Maintain accurate records of courses and qualifications being studied at the School liaising with the Deputy Head and Academic Director.
• Work with the Data Assistant to ensure the completion of Data Entry by teachers at each data assessment capture.
• Work with the Data Assistant to ensure the production of student interim and full reports.
• Support the Admissions Officer with maintaining up to date student records, including for new students
• Be responsible for the development and support of the common transfer system to provide consistency of data from school to school
• Completion of the school census and other statistical government returns
• Keep up to date with SIMS developments, including attending training courses as required and provide training for team members on updates


The successful candidate will have: -

• Recent experience of managing examinations in an educational context
• Experience of using am MIS system i.e SIMS
• Practical experience of word processing, excel, e-mail & other office electronic applications.
• Ability to produce statistical data in a spreadsheet format.
• Ability to analyse/interpret large volumes of data
• Ability to work with absolute accuracy
• Good typing and word processing skills.
• Good oral and written skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work with conflicting priorities
• Good communication skills.
• An understanding of the significance of recent developments from Governing bodies in relation to curriculum and examination systems
• Up to date knowledge of JCQ regulations
