The Council is seeking a suitably qualified person to manage the review and preparation of the Local Plan for Hyndburn. The Council is now undertaking a review of its Core Strategy and developing a Site Allocations DPD. A Masterplan is also being developed for Huncoat Garden Village and this will need to be incorporated into these emerging plans. A wide range of evidence is also being developed to support these plans.

You should be a member of the RTPI and have at least 5 years post qualification experience, a significant proportion of which should be in planning policy. You should have a good understanding of the social, environmental and economic issues facing Pennine Lancashire and how those issues have been translated into planning policy. You should be highly motivated and have excellent communication skills with the ability to engage within the Council, with members of the public, an Inspector, developers and elected members.

We are looking for someone that is well organised, flexible and hard working and able to work effectively as part of a team, and should be able to develop positive and creative planning policy that will ensure that high quality development is directed towards the most appropriate locations.

If you are as passionate about delivering results as we are, and if you want a job where you can be part of a team that’s making a real difference, we’d like to hear from you.
