Town Centres Officer
Economic Development

Trafford Council has a very clear agenda to grow the economy of the borough through increasing its business, employment and residential base. This commitment has resulted in the Council investing in a Strategic Growth Service bringing together economic development, strategic planning, town centre management, housing strategy and masterplanning/strategic sites functions. The Service plays a key role in growing the economy of Trafford and is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to help us deliver it.

Trafford is a dynamic and forward-looking Borough with a diverse mix of town centres that represent an exciting and challenging opportunity. We need to ensure that Trafford’s town centres are vibrant and attractive places for residents, businesses and visitors. They must be able to provide the right ‘offer’ as high quality retail, cultural and residential locations, be sustainable, and act as a catalyst for growth.

We are looking for a Town Centres Officer to join the Town Centres Team to lead on, and support, a range of initiatives to stimulate improvement, development and investment in Altrincham, Sale, Stretford, Urmston and Partington town centres. You will work on both operational and strategic initiatives and gain invaluable career experience.

You will need to demonstrate that you have relevant experience, in either the public or private sectors, which can deliver real change on the ground and meet the Council’s corporate objectives. You will need to demonstrate innovative approaches to transforming town centres, strong communication skills to achieve results and that you are able to maintain strong, effective relationships with the private, public and third sectors.

For this post you will need to be dynamic and motivated and above all, you will be as excited as we are about our vision for the future of Trafford.
