Hyde Town Hall, 10 Corporation St, Hyde SK14 1AL

Salary Grade H: Scp29 £32,029 – Scp31 £33,799 per annum

Are you looking to work in a fast paced highly rewarding role?
Tameside Council, Special Educational Needs Team are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced SEN practitioner to join the service.

The Children & Families Act 2014 introduced a new model of assessing and developing support plans for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) from 0-25 years. This change resulted in multi-agency working between education, health and social care to identify need and support statutory assessment and the co-production of high quality Education Health Care Plans for children and young people with SEND.

We are looking to recruit a passionate and dedicated SEN Caseworker who will be responsible for co-ordinating the statutory assessment process. You will be able to and have confidence in communicating with professionals from a wide range of services as well as supporting young people and their families through the process.

You should have a sound knowledge of SEND educational provision case management, excellent organisational and communications skills with the ability to inspire confidence, negotiate and problem solve using a person centred approach. You will be working in an office environment, within a supportive team, co-ordinating and writing Education Health Care Plans and will be required to manage a caseload in line with statutory timescales as outlines within the SEN Code of Practice.

Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and the Children’s and Families Act (2014) and other relevant legislation is paramount to the role of the SEN Caseworker.

This post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English in the person specification

This post requires an enhanced DBS Disclosure.
