Senior Practitioner (Occupational Therapy)

36 Hours - Fixed Term to carry out a Specific Project

Salary: Grade I. Scale 35 - £37,849 to Scale 39 - £41,675 with a professional bar at SCP 37**

Located at Crickets Lane Clinic, Ashton Under Lyne

** This post is classified as being in a professional job category. As such the grade for the job has a professional grade development bar which employees can progress through subject to meeting the following criteria:
1. Relevant professional qualification for the job role at Level 6 or above, AND
2. Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in the role, AND
3. Maintained membership of a regulated body where this is a requirement to practice in the role where applicable, AND
4. Professional standards practised to the highest expected level.

The successful applicant will join the leadership team taking responsibility for professional leadership and development across the borough in relation to reduced handling. Your role will be to enhance professional capability and practice both internally and with external agencies and contribute to the development of safe manual handling practices across Tameside.

You will co-ordinate the reviews of all multi handling support across Tameside and in doing so will secure organisational and partnership wide change in approach to risk management, improving dignity through reduced numbers involved in delivering intimate personal care interventions.

You will work closely with the current manual handling Practitioners and OT’s to inform ongoing arrangements within the borough to deliver a sustainable approach to risk management. This role requires a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent leadership qualities

These positions require an Enhanced DBS disclosure.

This post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English in the person specification.
