ASSESSMENT OFFICERS 

Grade E £18,746 to £21,268 per annum

36 Hours per week

Fixed Term Contracts for two years due to workload peak

Located at Tameside Council Offices, Two Trees Lane, Denton, M34 7QL

Tameside Council is dedicated to providing high quality services to meet the needs of customers in relation to Adults Social Care Finance, Benefits, Business Rates, Council Tax and Sundry Income.

We are looking for highly motivated, flexible and adaptable individuals to join our busy team.  Applicants must have good numeracy, literacy and communication skills and must have the ability to meet targets, whilst working in a high demand, thriving environment.

In return for we offer you salary of £18,746 to £21,268 per annum, 36 hour working week, Excellent staff training,
Flex time and an enjoyable working environment.

A number of the main duties of this job role are:

• Assessing claims for benefit and financial support
• Billing and collection of Business Rates, Council Tax and Sundry Income
• Dealing with telephone enquiries and communications from members of the public
• Providing an excellent standard of customer service to residents of Tameside
