Children with Complex Needs
The Complex Needs team are highly regarded by parents &colleagues across Trafford & wider who work closely with parents, school & the community to help parents raise the most challenging children. The Complex Needs (children social care) Team work with children & young people with disabilities & their families providing short breaks, Child in Need, child protection & care proceedings. The work is varied & all your skills as a social worker will be called upon
The team works with a wide range of children & young people with disabilities across the borough up to the age of 18. The service provides support to children with challenging behaviours, autism, learning disabilities, epilepsy & complex health & physical disabilities.
The Complex Needs team supports children with disabilities to remain at home whenever possible & for as long as possible. We are looking for people who can adopt an innovative approach to supporting children's social care & ensure continuity of care to our vulnerable service users. You will have a sound knowledge of legislation relevant to the posts & demonstrable insight into the issues facing children, young people & families. With strong communication & assessment skills, you will have the ability to develop effective working relationships with families & colleagues from various agencies.
Candidate
With a recognised social work qualification & a current HCPC registration, you will have the ability to demonstrate knowledge of a range of social work skills, methods & techniques appropriate to children with disabilities & their families. You will have knowledge & understanding of the diverse needs of children & young people with complex needs. It is essential that you have strong communication & assessment skills & the ability to develop effective working relationships.
