SENIOR ICT SUPPORT OFFICER - WEB DEVELOPER

Permanent, 36 Hours per Week

Salary: Grade G SCP29 £26,470 – SCP32 £29,055

Tameside Council is looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced web application developer to help develop the council’s interactive website and deliver the digital by design project.

The role will involve working with a team of experienced IT professionals to devise and deliver projects that directly contribute to our IT Strategy and our Digital by Design aspirations. The role is a demanding one, dealing with a wide range of subjects in a fast paced environment to challenging timescales and flexible priorities.

We are seeking candidates with demonstrable development skills who can work effectively in a professional IT environment. Ideally candidates will be strong in both front and back end technologies however we will consider applications from candidates who are well developed in just one. Candidates must also possess the ability to work well with others and have confidence to represent the team during requirements discussions and in meetings to deliver a finished product.

The main duties will be to:
- liaise with customers to help evaluate/recommend appropriate software to meet user needs
- translate customer requirements into a technical specification
- develop software to meet customer requirements
