CHILDREN'S RESIDENTIAL TEAM MANAGER

Full time, Permanent

Salary: Grade J. Scale 40 - £42,683 to Scale 41 - £43,662



We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated manager to manage our children’s home in Dukinfield for disabled children in Tameside.

You will support the practice manager in the day to day running of the home and be the registered manager with OFSTED.

Excellent communication and leadership skills and an ability to prioritise and delegate workloads and manage risk effectively in an ever changing environment will be essential for this role.

Educated to degree level or equivalent and with significant work experience in managing residential services, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate an ability to manage and lead a team providing support and supervision to staff in the delivery of care and support in children’s homes.

A thorough understanding of the OFSTED children’s homes regulatory framework and the associated legislation; The Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015 is essential.

The work will include working with children and young people, their families schools, social work teams and other key partners in developing sustainable residential placements. Knowledge and experience of caring for children with disabilities and challenging behaviour and complex medical needs is essential.

The successful applicant will be a beacon of good practice and have the ability and knowledge to cascade key information to their teams and partners in order to develop culture, skills and behaviour that promote good outcomes for Tameside children and will work with the other residential homes in maintaining an efficient, effective and child focused service that promotes the best interests of children and young people .

This includes the provision of care packages that provide permanent care for looked after children, short residential breaks and shared care for children who live at home in the community

This home has been awarded outstanding Ofsted Inspection grades since 2008 and we are keen to ensure that the service retains a quality provision benefiting children and families in Tameside.
