Are you passionate about youth work? Are you committed to listening to, advising and advocating for young people? Are you skilled at building trusting, positive, relationships with young people, even when they don’t want to know?

Talkshop is Trafford’s one stop - information, advice and guidance shop for Trafford young people aged 11-19 (up to 25 for targeted groups). The post holder will be part of a team of highly motivated youth workers both delivering and coordinating a range of services including; sexual health clinics; Missing From Home project; Child Sexual Exploitation mentoring; Young Parents projects as well as general advice and support work. Talkshop staff also support the new detached and locality Street Talk youth work team.

We are looking to recruit Young People’s Workers with excellent engagement skills and qualified to Level 3 (or higher) in youth work or a relevant equivalent qualification. We want to recruit youth workers with experience of providing advice and information services, and supporting young people in group settings and on a one-one basis.

This is a flexible role that could be worked over 3 full days or 5 shorter days. Job shares or candidates requiring other flexibility are welcome. We are keen to recruit youth workers with varied backgrounds and life/work experience. Candidates may also be considered for other full time and bank Young People’s Workers roles in Talkshop or Community settings.
