Together an Active Future Insight Analyst
Public Health


An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Together an Active Future (TaAF) Insight Analyst until March 31st 2021. The post will be based in the Public Health team at Blackburn with Darwen Council and will be integral to the development of Pennine Lancashire’s Local Delivery Pilot in partnership with Sport England.

Pennine Lancashire has been driving change through its transformation of health and social care to improve the health, wealth and wellbeing for people who live and work in the towns and villages across the six local authority areas. Sport England’s Local Delivery Pilot fits within this wider work and is an excellent opportunity to build on and accelerate the local priority to increase levels of physical activity and improve mental wellbeing. The programme has a strong commitment to develop effective insight, evaluation and community engagement and for local people to be part of the development, design and delivery processes.

You will be educated to Masters level or with an equivalent professional qualification, with significant practical Public Health data science/data visualisation and evaluation experience in the public sector. You will take a key role in providing the range of wellbeing, physical activity and community insight to inform programme development, and ensure resources are targeted effectively. You will be able to provide specialist technical advice on spatial data patterns, statistics and statistical techniques, and carry out data visualisation and interpretation of data about health, wellbeing and physical activity. You will also be able to design and deliver research and evaluation programmes using both quantitative and mixed methods. You will be a key member of the Public Health and TaAF teams, driving insight strategy for Together a Healthier Future, strategic commissioners, Pennine Lancashire Councils and partners.

Initially based in Public Health Intelligence, you will be part of a supportive and motivated teams within Blackburn with Darwen, across Pennine Lancashire and with Sport England; you will have a desire to do things differently, drive system change and improve the health and wellbeing of people in Pennine Lancashire.
