Tameside MBC is committed to providing care and support for the most vulnerable children and young people in the borough.

Part of our commitment to care is ensuring we encourage more people to consider becoming foster carers.

Providing a stable, secure and loving home is one of the most important factors in helping a child to grow and thrive.

The Council is looking to recruit an experienced marketing professional to help raise awareness of the rewards of fostering and to highlight the process of fostering within Tameside MBC.

The successful candidate will be experienced in developing marketing strategies, running promotional campaigns and being able to use communication disciplines from marketing, to media relations and events in order to recruit new foster carers.

The role will involve working within the Child Placement Team to develop a programme of events, promotions and awareness-raising opportunities that will support their on-going recruitment and retention efforts, but will have a clear link to the Council’s corporate marketing team.

You will ideally have experience of managing communications around similarly sensitive issues but will also be proactive in recognising opportunities to highlight success and individual case studies in order to bring the subject to life.

You will be familiar with evaluating the success of marketing and events activity and working with a range of partners to achieve results.
