PRACTICE MANAGER

LOOKED AFTER CHILDREN

Permanent, 36 hours per week

Salary: Grade I. Scale 35 - £37,849 to Scale 39 - £41,675 with a professional bar at SCP 37**

The provision of Children’s Services is a key priority for the Council and following the most recent Ofsted Inspection in September 2016 a focused improvement plan has been developed to raise the quality and standards within the service to secure better services for children and young people in Tameside. To achieve our ambitious improvement plans we need suitable experienced professionals with drive, integrity and ambition
We are striving for excellence in our Looked After Children’s Service and want existing Practice Managers and/or ambitious and experienced Social Workers who are looking to take the next step in their career.

For these permanent roles if you have:
• Experience of working with children and their families who are looked after by the local authority.
• A good knowledge of the needs of children who live away from birth parents and the legislation framework supporting them.
• High standards of professional practice and want to develop your supervisory skills.
Then we want you to join us.

As a Practice Manager, you will be supported by a dedicated and experienced management team, provided with good quality supervision that will develop you as a supervisor, and be able to access to excellent training and development opportunities.

** This post is classified as being in a professional job category. As such the grade for the job has a professional grade development bar which employees can progress through subject to meeting the following criteria:
1. Relevant professional qualification for the job role at Level 6 or above, AND
2. Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in the role, AND
3. Maintained membership of a regulated body where this is a requirement to practice in the role where applicable, AND
4. Professional standards practised to the highest expected level. **
