The Crisis Care Pathway for children & young people in Greater Manchester (GM) is being totally transformed. Four Rapid Response teams serving the whole of GM are at the heart of the transformation. These teams will provide crisis assessment and management and will offer intensive support post crisis for children, young people and families. The post holder will work predominantly within 1 geographical cluster, however some working across the whole GM area will be required
This post will be based within the Central Rapid Response Team covering Manchester and Salford and will be employed by Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.
Role Summary
The post holder will have the opportunity to make profound improvements in how crisis care is experienced by children, young people and those who care for them. As service lead of the Rapid Response Team you will be at the heart of a well funded, well organised, hugely valued work-stream. You will link with emergency services and with primary care to offer first response assessment and intervention for children and young people in actual or emerging crisis. You will offer intensive follow up for up to 72 hours and will develop longer term care plans to identify and address the holistic needs of young people and families across Greater Manchester. You will also link with specialist in-patient services, referring and co-managing admissions within a recovery model.

Key Responsibilities
• Directly manage the team of staff and responsibility for the day to day work assigned to the team
• To support and motivate the team ensuring they are able to deliver the new responsibilities of the service.
• Responsible for the recruitment, line management, development and evaluation of staff working within the service, including IPDR’s
• To monitor the performance and development of team members
• Deliver an effective service to ensure there are safe and effective care pathways in place for all CYP referred to RRT
• To ensure the provision of a 7 day, high quality clinical service to children and young people and families before, during and following crisis by working collaboratively with partner agencies and ensuring referrals are made to appropriate services
• Offering community based assessment, de-escalation and risk reduction interventions when children and young people are presenting in crisis.
• Working intensively with children, young people and those who care for them for up to 72 hours.
Key Requirements
• You will have a relevant Core Professional qualification in mental health e.g. social worker, registered nurse, clinical psychologist, plus evidence of continued professional registration and development in a CAMHS related area
• Experience of working across professional / organisational boundaries
• You will have substantial experience of working as a senior clinician in clinical settings which meet the core competencies of the post
• You will be highly skilled in understanding and managing complex presentations within complex systems.
• You will have a high degree of emotional resilience enabling you to perform at a high level and communicate empathically and effectively even when people are highly dysregulated and potentially abusive.
• You will have a genuine and passionate belief in the child centred, needs led, recovery focused values base of the service.
• You will need to recognise the value of flexibility and availability for young people and be able to work to meet the demands of the service and have use of a car or suitable means of transport to enable support of young people across GM.
