We are looking to recruit an AMHP-trained social worker to work within the Adults Community Mental Health Team in Trafford. You will be employed by Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council, but will be based in fully integrated multi-disciplinary teams managed by Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and will work alongside colleagues from nursing, occupational therapy and medical backgrounds.
You will be a skilled and reflective social work practitioner with demonstrable experience of working with severe mental illness in a community setting. You will have completed AMHP training or will be prepared to train as an AMHP. We would consider a level 1 social worker but with the expectation that you are committed to training to level 3 and AMHP-trained.
You will care co-ordinate a caseload of service users with complex needs; assess new referrals including safeguarding and vulnerable adult referrals; carry out mental health act assessments and other AMHP duties on a rota basis and actively contribute to a multidisciplinary approach to the management of the health and social care needs of the users of our service.
You will be joining a supportive and motivated team with a strong commitment to learning and practice development. You will be given regular professional and specialist supervision.
The service operates 7 days per week, therefore applicants must be able to work weekends on a rota basis
