We currently have an exciting vacancy within our public health commissioning team to enable us to continue to build on our success & also bring new experience, knowledge & ideas into the team. Public health commissions a wide range of services from drugs & alcohol, domestic abuse, sexual health, smoking cessation & our new healthy lifestyle service. As part of this work we have contractual relationships with a wide range of providers including voluntary sector organisations, NHS & local primary care providers.

About the Role
You will have responsibility for providing support to existing commissioning leads within the public health team.

Key areas include supporting & monitoring the newly establish smoking cessation contact with local pharmacists & GPs, reviewing existing contracts across Primary Care Networks & other pharmacy provision.

Part of this work will include visiting local providers to provide quality & financial assurance. There will also be scope to work on new project areas across the public health portfolio e.g. health checks, drug & alcohol. We have an exciting new lifestyle support project targeting parts of our community with poorer health outcomes & you would be involved in supporting the implementation of this service.

Our team is busy & you will need to be able to work on a multiple projects & prioritise effectively. We expect candidates to have a good level of data analysis, literacy & numeracy skills. It is equally important that people can develop strong relationships with providers & be responsive to their challenges & concerns with service development as a key driver.

Improving the health of our population is at the heart of our team & the candidate must have a passion & interest in health improvement, particularly working with our more vulnerable residents who would benefit most from lifestyle support.
