PERIPATETIC TEAM – CHILDREN’S SERVICES

Trafford Council recognises the pressures of working in social work teams and offers excellent support and training to our Social Workers. This has recently been recognised in our Ofsted inspection where we were judged to be the joint highest in the country for Children’s services. In addition, we received an 'Outstanding' rating for the service we have in place for care leavers.

This demonstrates our investment and commitment in social care to ensure better and positive outcomes for our children, families and young people.

We currently have a vacancy in our Peripatetic Social Work Team where the successful candidate will be deployed to work across the service to support peaks in demand. Therefore we are looking for a confident, level 3 experienced Social Worker who can work flexibly and who would welcome the challenge of working in different teams as required. We are looking for someone who can adopt an innovative approach to supporting children’s social care and ensure continuity of care to our vulnerable service users.

The decisions on where to place a peripatetic worker will lie with the Strategic Lead for Children’s Social Care. Workers will be supported through the existing Reflective Supervision and the PDR process by whichever Manager of the team they are deployed to at the time. Peripatetic workers will have full access to the training and support available to all social workers in Trafford.

The workers in this team will have the opportunity to develop experience and skills across a wide range of teams and approaches and will be fully supported in this.

If you are looking for a post which will provide challenges, variety, and opportunity and you have significant post qualification experience in children’s social care, this post will be ideally suited to you.
