We are looking to recruit a YOS Case Worker (Mental Health) to be part of a multi-agency Service providing an integrated approach to delivering interventions that meet the principal aims of the Youth Offending Service, which are to prevent offending by children and young people; protect the public from harm and safeguard children and young people. This requires the post holder to adopt a flexible approach when working with these service users and their families to achieve positive outcomes and address their complex needs including emotional health and wellbeing concerns.
The post holder will support the Service Manager to drive the mental health agenda within the Service, identifying the complex needs of service users, monitoring performance and supporting the annual youth justice plan.
The Youth Offending Service works within the court arena, in the community and supervises young people in custodial settings, as well as having contact with victims of crime. The post holder will work borough wide with partnership agencies and relevant professionals to achieve positive outcomes for young people.
Volunteers are a key part of the youth justice work through the different roles they offer the service such as mentoring to young people and sitting on the Referral Order panels. The post holder will be required to coordinate and supervise the volunteers to undertake their work and support the smooth running of the service.
You will require an appropriate professional qualification in:
· Mental Health Nursing or
· Psychology or
· Nursing qualification
· Social Work Qualification
Or other relevant professional undertaken
