We are seeking to appoint a qualified Librarian, or someone with an equivalent level of relevant knowledge and skills with substantial experience of working in a public library service or Bibliographical Service.
Assisting the Resources Manager, you will play an important role in delivering a cost effective acquisitions programme, ensuring that the stock meets the requirements of the diverse communities across the borough of Tameside.
Excellent ICT skills are essential as tasks undertaken include responsibility for EDI functionality which requires liaising with library suppliers and ICT services, the maintenance and creation of Marc21 records and regular reporting of performance statistics. You will also assist in the management of the Library Computer System, the development of digital library services and the use of technology within the library service.
Primarily based in the Bibliographical Service Unit you will also play a key part in managing, circulating and developing stocks across the full library service, to ensure that stock is utilised to its full potential ensuring optimum performance.
