We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and organised Policy and Research Officer to join our dynamic new Policy and External Relations team.

As Policy and Research Officer you will be responsible for influencing strategic priorities, developing policy and collaborating with a wide range of partners and stakeholders.

Based in the Town Hall and working closely with the Leader, Chief Executive, senior councillors and officers, this is a vital and busy role with work that is varied and challenging. Responsibilities will involve contributing to and co-ordinating city council policy across directorates and with partners; inputting to city council strategies; supporting project development, strategic and business planning, and providing policy insight and research.

Successful candidates will possess suitable experience; with an extensive knowledge and understanding of national and local government; excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills; be creative, self-motivated to meet stringent deadlines. You will be confident working with stakeholders and politicians.
