An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic, innovative and creative team in children’s services. The role of service coordinator is to carry out assessments for children with additional needs at the early intervention stage, work with families to engage with services Tameside provide both via the local offer; or through targeted support. During the assessment you will work closely with children and families to gather information on their needs; their wishes and feelings and the child’s view of what life is like for them. For some children this would have to be obtained through a variety of communication methods due to their additional needs.

The service coordinator will also have responsibility for creating children’s care plans as well as reviewing care plans in accordance with service procedures.

The service coordinator will chair EHA reviews attend meetings with families, school reviews, training events and community activities.


You must have good communication skills, numeracy and literacy, competent in the use of a wide range of technology including Microsoft packages. Must be able to work independently, be a good team player, and have proven organisational skills.
