OUT OF HOURS SOCIAL WORKER / APPROVED MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL

Salary: Grade H. Scale 29 - £32,029 to Scale 34 - £36,876 with a profession bar at SCP 31 **
** This post is classified as being in a professional job category. As such the grade for the job has a professional grade development bar which employees can progress through subject to meeting the following criteria:
1. Relevant professional qualification for the job role at Level 6 or above, AND
2. Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in the role, AND
3. Maintained membership of a regulated body where this is a requirement to practice in the role where applicable, AND
4. Professional standards practised to the highest expected level.

36 hours per week, Permanent

Located at Dukinfield Town Hall, King Street

Tameside Council is looking to recruit an Approved Mental Health Professional Social Worker to our small Out of Hour’s duty team working within the Adults Community Operational Team.
• You will be a skilled and reflective social work practitioner with demonstrable experience of working with people with mental health needs and people in crisis.
• The work is organised on a shift basis covering evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
• You will be responsible for responding to referrals which arise out of office hours for vulnerable adults. The role will involve undertaking the duties in the role of Approved Mental Health Professional in accordance with the Mental Health Act 1983.
• You will be working collaboratively across a range of disciplines to continuously promote the needs of vulnerable adults. The aim of the role will be to prevent significant harm or hardship by coordinating services when a need is indicated.
• You will have proven assessment, care planning, case work and organizational / communication skills in the context of managing a service user’s requirements and the safe delivery of focused intervention packages where required.
• You should have experience of working with older adults, adults with mental health needs and related social difficulties.

Awareness and working experience of adult/child safeguarding issues and procedures are essential.

A full driving license is required.
