Wyre is a coastal district with stunning coastline along Morecambe Bay and breathtaking countryside extending into the Forest of Bowland AONB. The council is a forward thinking authority, which has successfully delivered on a number of regeneration schemes and is currently working on a series of ambitious initiatives to drive economic recovery. Our current portfolio includes:

- Locally led Regeneration Frameworks for our town centres
- Fleetwood Heritage Action Zone
- Project Neptune – a 40,000 sq ft food and fish processing development
- Pending £8.5m bid for Levelling Up funding to kick-start the regeneration of Fleetwood’s town centre

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced professional to join the council's Economic Development Team. This is a hardworking, friendly and high performing team and the role offers the chance to support businesses to grow and prosper as well as the opportunity to be involved in the delivery of strategic projects to realise the potential of our town centres.

The successful candidate will work closely with external partners to support the development and delivery of economic development projects across the Fylde Coast - including the delivery of the Hillhouse Enterprise Zone (EZ) masterplan and its implementation plan.

The applicant should have considerable experience of working across a range of business support schemes and economic development programmes, projects and initiatives. You should have a good working knowledge of economic development policy and principles and external funding opportunities and be a dynamic and flexible person with strong people skills capable of representing the council and championing investment in Wyre.

Previous experience in economic development or regeneration is essential.

This role requires a motivated team player, able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines with an accurate attention to detail.
